Flight Circle and Taxiway Bravo, compared honestly

Flight Circle is a mature, web-based scheduler for US flying clubs and small schools, at $10 per aircraft per month with unlimited users.[1] It covers scheduling, dispatch and check-in, billing and point of sale, QuickBooks sync and maintenance reminders.[1] Its weight and balance step is a dispatch affirmation the pilot confirms; its own documentation's example reads “Weight & Balance, TFRs, Weather, & NOTAMS verified.”[2] Taxiway Bravo computes the weight and balance for the load you booked, from that tail's handbook and weighing, and refuses the booking with a reason when it is out of limits. Flight Circle has more years of club use and several features we do not have yet, listed below.

Weight and balance
Flight CircleA dispatch affirmation whose text the administrator sets, for example “Weight & Balance, TFRs, Weather, & NOTAMS verified.”[2]
Taxiway BravoComputed for the booked load from this tail's own weighing and its handbook's envelope. Out of limits, or missing data: refused, with the reason and the fix. A missing weighing is never a pass.
Handbook and performance
Flight CircleWe found no digitized handbook, takeoff or landing calculator on its homepage or the documentation we read.[1]
Taxiway BravoEach tail's handbook digitized: checklists, limitations, weight and balance and performance. Where the handbook is verified, takeoff and landing distance are computed for the departure's weather at dispatch and kept with the booking. Reference only, not the AFM.

Where Flight Circle is better

If one of these decides it for you, choose them. We would rather you knew now.

  • Backup reservations that promote themselves, with an email, when the primary booking cancels or moves.[3] We have no standby list.
  • Admin automations: late fees on open balances, auto pay for groups and new users, monthly billing emails, archiving inactive users.[4]
  • Point of sale for selling items and services at the counter.[1] We have no point of sale.
  • QuickBooks sync.[1] We export a monthly transaction journal as CSV for your bookkeeper; we do not sync.
  • Years of use by clubs, and an EAA member benefit.[5] We are new, with no customer count to show you yet.
